Diversified Plastics, Inc. Continues Growth and Expansion

As 2022 drew to a close, DPI celebrated the completion of a significant 12,000-square-foot expansion. However, the addition was only the beginning, as it soon became evident that further growth was necessary. In early 2024, we embarked on the design and architectural planning for an additional 24,000-square-foot manufacturing facility.

Building for the Future

By the end of 2025, our 3.5-acre campus will be fully utilized, housing over 60,000 square feet of building space with four impressive 80,000 lbs. silos and a two-story office space, doubling our Tool Room to accommodate additional molding machines and capabilities. This latest project is not just about adding square footage; it’s about our commitment to meeting our customers’ plastic components needs and investing in our employees and American manufacturing.

Growing Our Workforce

This expansion also allows us to grow our team. We’ve recently welcomed three new Sales Representatives, a Production Controller, and a CNC Router Machinist. In the next several months, we plan to add two more Toolmakers, another Shipping Specialist, and a Maintenance Technician. These new roles will strengthen our operations as we continue delivering the high-quality products our customers rely on.

Streamlining Operations for Efficiency

DPI’s manufacturing buildings are designed to further streamline our molding, machining, and fabrication operations. The completed facility will accommodate extra-heavy equipment, including large-scale molding machines, and have upgraded shipping truck ramps for efficient logistics.

Machining

Machining out of solid engineered plastic stock is the ideal way to create parts for applications that require tight tolerances and uniform finish in low- to mid-quantity runs.

Injection Molding

Injection molding and overmolding is an extremely flexible process that dramatically reduces waste and cost when creating parts especially in mid- to high-volume runs.

Urethane Casting

Pouring liquid urethane into molds and allowing it to cure is a proven method for creating parts in a multitude of shapes, sizes and durometers.

Thermoforming

Forming plastic sheet material with heat and pressure is a very cost-effective and versatile process with low set-up and tooling costs, making it efficient for low volume runs.
