Missoula, MT – Diversified Plastics, Inc. was invited to present to the Hyundai Motor Group at the Montana Manufacturing Innovation Showcase event, on October 25, 2022. Hyundai Motor Group is investing $20 million over the next five years for the research and development of Ultimate Mobility Vehicles (UMVs), and they have chosen the Montana State University campus as the location for their lab.

Hyundai Motor Group research and development facility is called the Hyundai New Horizons Studio (NHS). With a focus on product design and development, market research, prototyping, field testing, end-user / commercial production and smart assembly, and much more, Hyundai will be utilizing the engineering and manufacturing expertise of Montana business owners. DPI was one out of six companies selected to present at the Manufacturing Innovation Showcase event.

“We were honored to be chosen as a presenter for the Manufacturing Innovation Showcase event,” states Brad Reid, DPI President. “The Hyundai leadership team has recognized the incredible manufacturing and innovation opportunities in Montana, and we are excited to see how UMVs can be applied in challenging environments all over the world.”

New Horizon Studio’s mission is to build vehicles for future customers who want or need to travel over terrains which are challenging for conventional ground vehicles. The applications for UMVs include natural resource management, disaster management, all-urban and rural logistics, construction, mining and space resource development. DPI’s experience in mining, agriculture, and forest and lumber will be an incredible asset as these UMVs are designed and tested.
